Company F, Hagood's Guards were named in honor of James Earle Hagood of
the Pickens District in Upstate South Carolina. Mr. Hagood was an outstanding citizen and business man in the Pickens District.
His family ran a Grist Mill north of the town of Pickens, which still operates today.
